Shareholder Informational Meetings
Anchorage - Saturday, April 6, 2013 - 11AM to 1PM at the Alaska Native Heritage Center.  Taxi vouchers will be available. Lunch will be served.

Village of Tyonek - Saturday, April 13, 2013 - 11AM to 1PM  at the Tyonek School.  Lunch will be served.

2013 Annual Meeting - Board Elections
Anchorage - Saturday, May 18, 2013 - 11am- 2pm - Salvation Army Community Center, 1712 A Street, just next to theTNC corporate offices in the Kaloa Building. Lunch will be served.

At last count, there were 811 shareholders on the books for Tyonek Native Corporation. To see as many people as possible at these meetings ensures you, the shareholders, are brought up-to-date on corporate activities, and also, so that your voices can be heard.

As always, there will be one Informational Meeting in Anchorage and one in Tyonek.  This way, more people have access to essential information about the Corporation.

For these Informational Meetings, a special focus and effort is being made to assist shareholders with understanding and executing a will.  An expert on wills is lined up to speak, forms will be on-hand, and questions can be answered on the spot.

Commended for their support on manufacturing helicopter relay panels, the TMGI Madison,  Alabama site manufactures and assembles the relay panels for commercial and military helicopters.

The award presentation recognizes TMGI as a critical supplier in providing cost savings on Multi-Year 8 award and a 100% on-time delivery 120 relay panels per month for the past nineteenth months.

This summit will feature respected tribal leaders, state, and local elected officials and top CEO’s, networking, teaming opportunities, business development sessions,  American Indian Procurement opportunities and much more.
The event is sponsored by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED). Created by American Indians in 1969 and led by American Indians throughout its history, it is the first national organization solely dedicated to developing American Indian economic self-sufficiency through business ownership.


The tribal values and the vision of elders that created this great organization continue today through its programs.  This work significantly contributes to leadership, small business and economic development for Indian Country.

Tyonek has just hired a top-flight business professional to join the corporate team. Debra Call holds an MBA and brings years of executive experience to this newly created position.

As Director of Corporate Administration, Debra is responsible for the planning, execution, and success of all TNC administrative functions, marketing support strategies, external and internal communications, shareholder relations, and programs that help achieve the company’s strategic development objectives.

Debra currently serves as President of the Knik Tribal Council and is on the Board of Directors of the Cook Inlet Tribal Council and Koahnic Broadcast Corporation. Most recently, Debra worked as the President and CEO of the Calista Heritage Foundation and the Vice President of Operations and HR for the Alaska Native Heritage Center.

When the managers meet, there is sure to be rousing discussion.  This September, managers met face-to-face in Huntsville to put their heads together on rebudgeting, future operating plans, upcoming business opportunities, and to reignite enthusiasm to diversify in the workplace.

Michael is the son of Tyonek shareholder Marlene Braun and grandson of the late Tyonek Village leader, Emil McCord Sr.

Michael is serving as a YAAM along with Ryan McCord (pictured here with Michael) and Robert Stephan, Jr.

Michael is proud to be Tebughna and has a deep desire to learn about his Athabascan culture including the Dena’ina language. When the opportunity arose, he was highly motivated and focused to become a YAAM.

Dating back to the 1500s, we have proof that the Tebughna (Beach People) were alive and well in Tyonek.  The preservation of artifacts has been central to PacRim Coal activities in the area.

Among the shareholders working on the archaeological site is Misty Buckles. This will be her third summer working with Stephen R. Braund & Associates (SRB&A) on the project. So far, she has logged over 1400 hours identifying, labeling, and cataloging artifacts.  Misty is following guidelines for curation set by the Museum of the North in Fairbanks, where the objects will be housed.

It was a great September day in Huntsville and a perfect time for the Tyonek Manufacturing Group's annual employee picnic. Above, Board Chair, Elizabeth Standifer, thanks employees for their hard work and dedication.  The food was great and the kids had lots of activities and games to play.
