Tyonek’s Board and management are positioning the Corporation to find a balance between protecting its people from negative consequences of development, and using resource development to benefit shareholders and their descendants. Some of the largest projects currently in progress are as follows:
Oil & Gas. The Cook Inlet is currently experiencing a significant increase in resource development and infrastructure improvements for resource projects. Apache Alaska Corporation recently announced a Cook Inlet wide exploration program in cooperation with a number of lease holders that could dramatically increase oil and gas projects and industry employment. http://seekingalpha.com/article/611431-apache-ready-to-break-100
Coal. The PacRim Coal Company is also entering into the final phases of permitting for a shoreside coal mine just 7 miles north of Tyonek. http://www.chuitnacoalproject.com/. The Chuitna Coal project could provide hundreds of jobs and contracting opportunities.
