The 27th Annual National Reservation Economic Summit in Las Vegas is coming up, especially the Tyonek Construction Group will be well represented.  For sometime,  Tyonek has been building a strong relationship with our Navajo cousins to the south, and it will be a great time to network with economic leaders from tribes across the country. This summit will feature respected tribal leaders, state, and local elected officials and top CEO’s, networking, teaming opportunities, business development sessions,  American Indian Procurement opportunities and much more. The event is sponsored by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED). Earlier this year, Michael Braun was selected by the Board of Directors to serve as the next Young Adult Advisory Member (YAAM). Michael is the son of Tyonek shareholder Marlene Braun and grandson of the late Tyonek Village leader, Emil McCord Sr. Michael is serving as a YAAM along with Ryan McCord (pictured here with Michael) and Robert Stephan, Jr. Michael is proud to be Tebughna and has a deep desire to learn about his Athabascan culture including the Dena’ina language. When the opportunity arose, he was highly motivated and focused to become a YAAM. CEO, Bart Garber invited to a meeting of the Senate Democratic Leadership Committee

CEO, Bart Garber, was invited by Senator Begich to join a meeting of the Senate Democratic Leadership Committee in May to talk about veterans hire.  Garber was part of a panel of people from around the country. May 2012 - Bart’s editorial Re: Veterans-- Printed in the ADN, Fairbanks News Miner, Juneau Empire  Editorial Our veterans are certainly in the spotlight these days.  At Tyonek Native Corporation, we are proud to say that over half of our employees nationwide are veterans.  Although Tyonek’s veteran hire numbers are higher than most, Alaska Native and American Indian government contractors often rely upon veterans to fill their ranks.  Native American companies have found veteran employees and veteran and service disabled companies to be among their most experienced and capable partners in business.
