MADISON, Ala., Oct. 5, 2017 – TFab Defense Systems, LLC (TFD), a subsidiary of Tyonek Manufacturing Group, Inc. (TMG) and Tyonek Native Corporation (TNC), has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground to provide Improved Environmental Control Units (IECU). The company forged a partnership with HDT Global (HDT) and Rocky Research to pursue the effort.

Tyonek has a long history and extensive technical experience in the design and production of environmental control products for U.S. military applications,” said Steve Adlich, President, TMG. “Additionally, we are excited about our partnership with HDT Global and Rocky Research in support of this requirement. Both HDT and Rocky Research bring a wealth of experience to our team and together we look forward to supporting the Army’s readiness mission.”
As the prime contractor, TFD will manufacture, test, and deliver four ECU variants which are designed to replace currently fielded units. The new variants will comply with statutory and regulatory restrictions on the use of Class II Ozone Depleting Chemicals (ODCs). The products will be produced in TFD’s Madison, Ala. manufacturing facility and HDT’s facility in Solon, Ohio.
